2007 Construction Conference & Expo
On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of The Construction Institute, we wish to thank the participants, vendors, speakers and sponsors who made our 2007 Construction Conference & Expo: Suits & Boots II - Building Better Together - such a success.

This year's conference program was expanded to embrace TCI's new mission of advancing union construction. So in addition to top notch sessions on workplace safety and health, the program included sessions geared to business development issues. Mark Breslin, a renowned speaker, trainer and strategist specializing in market share strategies for labor and management across the United States and Canada, opened the conference with a strategic look at how to leverage an increase in quality and capacity of field leadership in the construction industry. Jay Greenspan of JMJ Associates, gave a rousing luncheon keynote address on how to achieve breakthroughs in safety performance.

The conference concluded with two award ceremonies. TCI continued a 37-year tradition of recognizing men and women for their dedication to safeguarding the lives and health of union construction workers with the Volpe-Eagan Construction Safety Awards. Safety awards were conferred on Christopher Ziegler, Safety Director for the AGC of Massachusetts and Ben Tilton, Director of the Boston Apprenticeship Training Center. TCI also launched its Pride in Construction Project of the Year Awards Program - the only award of its kind recognizing a project built in Massachusetts using union contractors and workers. Lee Kennedy Company received the award for its work on the Simmons College Beatley Library Replacement project.
